Launch of Visit Johor 2026 Website & Mobile App – MATTA Fair

The Visit Johor 2026 Website and Mobile App were officially launched during MATTA Fair, marking a significant step in enhancing Johor’s digital tourism ecosystem. The platform provides comprehensive travel information, seamless access to services, and a user-friendly experience for both local and international visitors.

Tourist Arrival Welcome Ceremony – Visit Johor 2026

Johor officially launched Visit Johor Year 2026 with a grand Tourist Arrival Welcome Ceremony held simultaneously across 13 key entry points, including air, land, and sea. The ceremony at Senai International Airport was officiated by state leaders and attended by key government and tourism stakeholders.

The event showcased Johor’s commitment to delivering a welcoming and memorable tourism experience, featuring cultural performances such as zapin and kompang, alongside the distribution of exclusive souvenirs to arriving visitors.

Smart Young Tourism Entrepreneurs Workshop

The Smart Young Tourism Entrepreneurs Workshop was conducted to empower young entrepreneurs with knowledge, skills, and innovative strategies in the tourism industry. The programme focused on fostering digital adoption, enhancing business capabilities, and encouraging sustainable growth among emerging tourism players.

Smart Tourism Workshop

A Smart Tourism Workshop was conducted with cooperative members under Peladang Negeri Johor, focusing on the adoption of digital solutions and innovative approaches in the tourism sector. The session, held in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), highlighted the importance of empowering local stakeholders to enhance competitiveness and drive sustainable tourism development.

Official Engagement with Regional Governors

The programme was successfully conducted with the presence of Governor of Riau, Ansar Ahmad, and Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, following an official invitation. The engagement reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen regional collaboration and foster closer ties in areas of mutual interest, particularly in economic and tourism development.

Johor Smart City Forum 2025 – Smart City Workshop 2

Held at Persada Johor International Convention Centre, the Smart Tourism Workshop led by TPr. Dr. Norhazliza from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) marked another successful session under the Johor Smart City Forum 2025. The event received overwhelming support from industry players and various government agencies, reflecting strong collaboration and commitment towards advancing Johor’s Smart City initiatives.

Family Rally Wisata Explore Johor 2025

A unique tourism rally brought together 150 participants from Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia, travelling with 50 vehicles to discover Johor’s diverse attractions. This programme featured 12 checkpoints filled with interactive activities, including quizzes, creative challenges, visits to iconic landmarks, and authentic local culinary experiences. The Flag Off ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Encik Mohammad Nazrul bin Abdul Rahim, Director of Tourism Johor, accompanied by representatives from Tourism Malaysia Southern Region, the Johor Tourism Association, and the Consulate of Indonesia. This initiative not only highlights Johor’s heritage and charm but also strengthens the momentum of the Visit Johor 2026 campaign, reinforcing Johor as a welcoming destination for global travellers.In May 2025, Konsulat Jenderal Republik Indonesia (KJRI) Johor Bahru, in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Kepulauan Riau (Kepri) and tourism-industry partners from Johor and Kepri, officially launched the “JIWA – Jiran Istimewa” platform. In May 2025, Konsulat Jenderal Republik Indonesia (KJRI) Johor Bahru, in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Kepulauan Riau (Kepri) and tourism-industry partners from Johor and Kepri, officially launched the “JIWA – Jiran Istimewa” platform. This cross-border initiative seeks to deepen tourism cooperation and ease access for neighbouring residents, reflecting the strong cultural and geographic ties between the two regions.

Jakarta International Convention Centre (JICC)

In collaboration with Perbadanan Islam Johor (PIJ), PHV Halal Ventures Sdn. Bhd., entrepreneurs under Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Johor (MAINJ), PUJB entrepreneurs, Hous Ek, and We1, the participation in the Indonesia International Halal Festival 2025 served as a key platform to strengthen regional halal industry networks. The event highlighted Johor’s commitment to expanding the reach of local halal products into the international market and fostering strategic partnerships between Malaysia and Indonesia.

Launching of Jomstay Johor: Malaysia’s First Smart Tourism Platform

On 9th December 2024, we proudly unveiled Jomstay Johor, Malaysia’s premier smart tourism platform, at RIMBUNAN @ Mall of Medini. This groundbreaking initiative aims to redefine how travelers experience Johor, providing a seamless, digitally empowered way to explore the state’s unique attractions, accommodations, and activities.The event was graced by esteemed guests, including key government representatives, industry leaders, and media personnel, who witnessed the live demonstration of the platform’s innovative features. The highlight of the event was the official launch ceremony, symbolizing our commitment to revolutionizing the tourism landscape in Johor.With interactive displays, engaging presentations, and a showcase of the platform’s user-friendly interface, attendees experienced firsthand the potential of Jomstay Johor to transform tourism experiences. The launch also emphasized collaboration with local stakeholders, ensuring sustainable and inclusive growth for the tourism industry in the region.

MDCC Southern Members Day 2024

MDCC Southern Members Day 2024, held on 23rd September at Millésimé Hotel Iskandar Puteri, brought together industry leaders and MDCC members from the Southern Region for a day of networking and exploration of innovative digital solutions. The event offered a platform to discuss and promote digital transformation in the region. Attendees had the opportunity to exchange ideas and collaborate on shaping the future of the digital landscape.

Briefing Session with Hyundai-Sime Darby Motor Sdn Bhd in Conjunction with Visit Johor Year 2026

On August 6, 2024, a special briefing session was held with Hyundai-Sime Darby Motor Sdn Bhd at Puteri Harbour in preparation for Visit Johor Year 2026. This session provided insights into Hyundai-Sime Darby’s involvement and contributions to the upcoming tourism initiative, fostering collaboration to enhance Johor’s appeal as a top travel destination. The event was a key step in aligning strategic efforts to promote Johor’s tourism sector on a larger scale.

Johor Tourism Digitalization Engagement Session 2024

The “Johor Tourism Digitalization Engagement Session 2024” took place on June 6, 2024, at Millésime Hotel, Iskandar Puteri, bringing together key stakeholders and industry experts to strategize the future of Johor’s tourism through digital innovation. The event concluded with a closing ceremony officiated by the Honorable Tuan Raven Kumar a/l Krishnasamy, Chairman of the Johor State Committee for Unity, Heritage, and Culture, highlighting the initiative’s importance in driving a digitally empowered tourism sector.

Digitizing through TikTok

On May 15, 2024, an innovative workshop was conducted to empower the residents of Homestay Lenga and Homestay Bukit Kepong in Muar, Johor, by introducing them to the potential of social media, specifically TikTok. The event aimed to digitize by providing participants with the knowledge and tools to effectively use TikTok.

On April 28, 2024, the “Empowerment Workshop for Johor State Tourism” was held at the Hotel Four Points by Sheraton in Bandar Penawar. This workshop gathered tourism professionals, local entrepreneurs, and industry stakeholders from across Johor to focus on enhancing the state’s tourism sector.

On April 23, 2024, the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) hosted the signing ceremony of a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Masverse and Jomstay Digital Technology (M) Sdn. Bhd. This landmark event marked the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at fostering innovation and collaboration in the digital technology and tourism sectors.
